April Moore earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University, and a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Oregon State University/Western Oregon State College. She currently does parent coordination in Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties. April is a trained mediator with specialization in divorce and parental coordination and planning. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
    April has more than ten years of experience counseling a diverse population in a variety of treatment settings. These have included inpatient psychiatric hospitals, crisis intervention in a level one trauma center, and day and residential treatment centers. She also has a unique understanding of the deaf culture, having worked with deaf school children during her pre-graduate counseling activities. She understands American Sign Language (ASL) and has worked with interpreters. (An interpreter would be required for all deaf clients.)
    April has broad background in counseling children, adolescents and families. Areas of emphasis include adjustment and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, conduct disorders, attention deficit hyperactive disorders, schizophrenia and psychosis. She worked extensively with children and adolescents who have undergone various types of physical and/or sexual abuse, loss of one or both parents, varying degrees of trauma, dysfunctional family systems and issues related to mental retardation and physical disabilities. April has considerable experience conducting family therapy.
    April also has a strong background in counseling adults. She has worked with adults on issues including family dysfunction, parenting skills, coping skills, adjustment and mood disorders, schizophrenia and paranoia.
    April is married and lives with her husband and two children in Parker, Colorado.
