Carolyn has worked in the mental health field specializing in women's issues such as eating disorders, body image concerns, mood disorders, physical illness and life changes, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, and spirituality for more than 15 years, both as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Registered Nurse (RN). Prior to this she worked as an Emergency Room Nurse for 14 years. She has worked with adolescents and adults on an individual/couple/family and group basis in inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization settings. Carolyn co-developed an outpatient eating disorders program at a community mental health center. Carolyn has spoken on eating disorders and other treatment issues in school, church, health, and conference settings on both local and national levels.
Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska and a Masters in Science in Counselor Education from the University of Wyoming. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1976, a National Certified Counselor since 1994, and a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1996. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association.
