Dr. Daniel Trathen earned his BA in Psychology from Oakland University, an MDiv in Christian Education and an MA in Counseling from Denver Seminary. He earned his DMin in Pastoral Counseling and Clinical Studies from Andover-Newton Theological School in the Boston area. Dr. Trathen earned his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and is a licensed psychologist. He was a Visiting Professor of Marriage & Family Therapy as well as an adjunct professor at Denver Seminary for 20 years. He has taught in the Moody Bible Institute Graduate School and was a Counseling Instructor in the Graduate Department at Simpson College. He continues in full time private in Parker, Colorado. He has traveled extensively internationally.

Dr. Trathen has over 35 years of clinical experience in individual, adolescent, premarital, marriage, and family counseling. He also does life and leadership coaching. In addition to his clinical background, he served in the Navy during the Viet Nam era and now is a retired Army Reserve Chaplain. He has been in ministry for over 40 years and served on several church staffs. He a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Dr. Trathen maintains an active national training, consulting/coaching, and teaching ministry.

He was a biweekly columnist for The Parker Chronicle (Dr. Dan for Today) and a monthly syndicated columnist for Search Parker and the Castle Rock Magazines. In conjunction, he has contributed numerous articles for several journals including “Marriage and Family: A Christian Journal.” He is a co-author of A Lasting Promise: A Christian Guide to Fighting for Your Marriage. This book is published in English, Korean and Slovakian. In addition Dr. Trathen has developed A Biblical Guide to Comfort, Counsel, and Reflection, and A Christian Premarital Manual.
