John Christie, MA, LPC

John Christie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and a Master of Arts in counseling from Denver Seminary. He has worked in the counseling ministry at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church and John currently works at Excelsior Youth Center. He has over two years experience treating troubled teenagers in day-treatment, inpatient and outpatient environments. In addition, John has successfully completed and passed the National Counselors Exam and holds the credential of Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

John has a broad base of counseling experience with children, adolescents and families. Areas of emphasis include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, conduct disorders, borderline disorders and phobias. He has considerable experience working with children and adolescence who have suffered various types of physical and or sexual abuse, loss of a parent or parents, varying degrees of trauma, dysfunctional family systems and physical disabilities.

In conjunction with the adolescent practice, John also has a solid foundation with adults dealing with family dysfunction, mood disorders, divorce, grief, parenting and coping skills. Furthermore, John is a trained clinician in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR - I).

John and his wife, Beth, have been married for over ten years. They and their two children live in Parker, Colorado.
